Weftward

Privacy & AI disclosure

Last updated October 17, 2026

Weftward is brought to you by Commonweft. This page explains, in plain words, what happens when you use Weftward and chat with Shuttle.

Shuttle is an AI assistant

Shuttle is a virtual assistant, not a person, and it can make mistakes. It doesn't give tax, legal, or medical advice.

What the chat sends to the AI provider

Shuttle's replies are written by Anthropic's Claude, which we use through Anthropic's API. If Claude is unavailable, Google Gemini (through Google's API) writes the reply instead. When you send a message, our server passes the following to that AI provider so it can write the reply:

Anthropic handles this under its commercial terms, and Google under its Gemini API terms. Please don't type passwords, account numbers, health details, or other sensitive information into the chat.

What we log

We don't store your chats on our server. We keep a short record when Shuttle mentions Commonweft (for example, a Commonweft offer or listing), so we can check that it's shown fairly. That record has no visitor details: no name, no message text, and no contact information.

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, handles standard connection data, such as your IP address, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

What stays in your browser

Your chat history stays in your own browser. If you choose to let Shuttle remember you, your name, recent chat, and next step are saved in this browser's local storage (localStorage) for up to 90 days, so you can pick up where you left off. Nothing there is sent to us unless you keep chatting. Use "Forget me" in the chat to clear it at any time.

No lead collection yet

We don't collect names or email addresses yet. The follow-up form on the home page is turned off, and nothing you put there is sent or stored.
